A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. At regular check-up exams, your dentist and hygienist will include the examination of diagnostic x-rays which is essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. A gum disease evaluation will be performed which is checking the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease. Bridges
A non-removable bridge can restore your teeth to normal function by replacing missing teeth. It will improve the over-all health of your mouth by keeping the surrounding teeth in position and can also help maintain the structure of your face and jaw.

Root Canal Therapy
Having a root canal done on a tooth is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would die and have to be removed. Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although on occasion, a tooth will have to be retreated due to new infections. If a tooth's pulp (nerve and blood supply) becomes infected or inflamed, root canal treatment may be the only way to save the tooth. Root canal treatment consists of removing the nerve that lies within the root of the tooth. Contrary to what you may have heard, having a root canal is usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling done.

  Periodontal Disease
Periodontal treatment methods depend upon the type and severity of the disease. Your dentist and dental hygienist will evaluate for periodontal disease and recommend the appropriate treatment. Periodontal treatment methods depend upon the type and severity of the disease. Your dentist and dental hygienist will evaluate for periodontal disease and recommend the appropriate While seldom painful and frequently free of any obvious signs or symptoms, periodontal disease can progress, undetected, to the point where supporting bone is destroyed. With 80 - 90% of all teenagers having some form of gingivitis (inflamed gums) and 75% of adult tooth loss for people over the age of 35 due to periodontal disease, early treatment and prevention is essential. Since periodontal disease is caused by plaque and calculus (tartar), it is very important to see your dentist at least twice a year to have your teeth professionally cleaned and checked for any early problems.

Dentures
Many people believe that once they have dentures, they no longer need regular dental care. Denture wearers require regular exams to ensure their health, comfort, and appearance. Gum tissues and supporting bone are in a constant stage of change. Periodic relining of the dentures may be necessary to ensure a tight and comfortable fit.

Cosmetic Dentistry
For the smile you have always wanted, we offer tooth whitening, bonding and porcelain veneers, which allow us to reshape unsightly teeth, close gaps, and brighten your smile. Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. The bleaching process can attractively enhance the shading of your teeth to the desired level. Veneers offer a conservative approach to change the color or shape of your teeth.

Orthodontics
Your dentist may have discussed with you the benefits of having healthy teeth and proper jaw alignment. Crooked and crowded teeth are hard to clean and maintain. This can result in tooth decay, worsen gum disease and lead to tooth loss. Both adults and children can benefit from orthodontic treatment (braces). Properly aligned teeth can help prevent tooth decay, periodontal disease and TMJ or jaw joint problems in later years. You are never too old to have orthodontics done!

We now offer the Damon System of Braces. This system offers significantly reduced treatment time, with fewer appointments and higher-quality results. To learn more about Damon System of Braces log onto www.damonbraces.com.
